Nutritional status is evaluated in order to maintain and improve the health and dietary status.
How do we evaluate the nutritional status ?
1. Measure the height, weight and nutritive value
2. Determine the hemoglobin and glucose level
3. Measure the percentage of subdermal adipose tissue
4. Microscopic blood analysis - Darkfield method
Darkfield blood analysis represents the modern analysis of the ''live'' drop of blood. This method allows us to define our general health condition. Analysis of the ''live'' drop of blood is an old medical method which examines the blood quality. The blood is taken from the finger, after which the blood is put on a glass tile and, without any treatment, examined in a dark microscop field.
Microscopic analysis of live blood cells can indicate:
- qualitative state o red blood cells (erytrocytes), white blood cells (leukocytes) as well as trombocytes.
- unfavorable effect of free radicals on blood cells and the necessity to use antioxidants.
- predisposition for arterosclerotic changes on blood vessels
- presence of bacteria, parasites or funghi
- indigestible proteins and fat
- defficiency of oligoelements and vitamins ( such as vitamin B1, folic acid and iron)
- presence of uric acid crystals and the risk of gout
- hormonal imbalance
- poor circulation
Microscopic analysis of the ''live'' blood drop is not a diagnostic procedure. The procedure is indvidualized and is used for determination of an optimal diet and, if necessary, dietary suplementation.
